The story behind the car
So what is the deal? A Mustang on a GM site? Let me explain...
I can't remember how the topic ever even came up, but one day my wife asked me if I had a dream car (for a project), what would it be? I listed a couple of cars, like a 70 Chevelle SS or a early to mid-60s Nova. I also mentioned a Mustang. She thought that was wierd, as she knows I am a die-hard GM guy. I told her Iif I did get one, I'd swap in a GM motor anyway. A few days later we saw a 60s era Mustang parked along a road, and she said there was my dream car. I had to explain to her that I actually wanted a late 80s, early 90s "Fox" bodystyle Mustang. And this point, she told me I was crazy and ridiculous. Just forward a few months...
Let me just put it out there that my wife can't keep a secret to save her life. But on this occasion, there were other circumstances. As she was lying in bed sick, she starts to tell me about how she had found my Christmas present, and she was going back and forth between telling me or not (it was mid-October at this point). I told her to just suprise me, but then she kept going on about she was trying to figure out how to keep it hidden from me. We have several freinds that have helped us store things before, so I mentioned them. She said it was a little more complicated than that. Finally, she just decided to show me, so she loaded up her email, clicked on a link, and passed me the laptop. Before my eyes was several pictures of the Mustang that was to be my Christmas present (pics). Needless to say, I was shocked! I now understood why it was such a dilema for her.
Ok, so the car officially became mine on Oct 22, 2009. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten it to my house. Once it gets there, I will post about it and post some more pictures. Stay tuned!
